2019-2020 School Accountability Report Card

2020_School_Accountability_Report_Card_(CDE)_South_Fork_High_School_20210115

By February 1 of each year, every school in California is required by state law to publish a School Accountability Report
Card (SARC). The SARC contains information about the condition and performance of each California public school. Under
the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local Control and
Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, with
specific activities to address state and local priorities. Additionally, data reported in an LCAP is to be consistent with data
reported in the SARC.

• For more information about SARC requirements and access to prior year reports, see the California Department
of Education (CDE) SARC web page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/ac/sa/.
• For more information about the LCFF or the LCAP, see the CDE LCFF webpage at
https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/lc/.
• For additional information about the school, parents/guardians and community members should contact the
school principal or the district office.

FALL 2020 RE-OPENING UPDATE 8/7/2020

POSTED: August 7, 2020

Greetings Southern Humboldt Community,

Last night, the Southern Humboldt Unified School District Board of Trustees met for almost three hours to hear public comment, discuss, and determine what the District learning plan for the upcoming school year would look like. After much discussion from our very passionate stakeholders, with nearly sixty participants in the virtual board meeting and another fifty watching live on Facebook and through our live-stream, The Board voted, and direction has been provided that we will start the school year on August 31st with a full Distance Learning Model. The Board will meet on October 8, 2020, to re-evaluate and look at the possibility of bringing back small groups of students and returning to face-to-face instruction or whether to continue with the Distance Learning Model. The Board will continue to re-evaluate regularly with the ultimate goal of returning to face-to-face instruction when it is safe to do so.

In the coming weeks, we will be focusing our efforts and professional development on creating the best possible distance learning experience for our students.

The decision was difficult for the Board as they worked to balance student and staff safety with the learning and social-emotional needs of students. Each school will contact staff and families with more information as it is available.
